My Journey... so far!

My career has taken me through football environments across the UK, Canada, the United States and China, working in coaching, coach development, programme leadership, operations and football management.

Throughout that journey, my focus has remained consistent: developing people, strengthening systems and helping create football environments that provide better experiences for players, coaches and organisations.

Current Professional Development

I am currently completing the final stage of my BSc (Hons) in Football Coaching, Development & Administration at the University of South Wales, alongside completion of my UEFA B Licence.

This period has allowed me to strengthen and formalise more than 20 years of practical football experience through academic study, applied projects and continued professional work in the UK and United States.

My development has focused on football leadership, coaching practice, coach education, programme management, player development, strategic planning and the implementation of sustainable football environments.

I also hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Football Management from the Johan Cruyff Institute, which has added further knowledge in the business, leadership, commercial and organisational management of football.

Recent International Professional Experience

During my degree studies, I continued to work professionally within football, using the opportunity to gain further international experience in the United States.

In 2024, I worked as Operations Manager with UK International Soccer in Northern California, supporting multi-site football delivery across schools, clubs and camps. My responsibilities included workforce coordination, safeguarding, staff onboarding, operational planning, recruitment support and programme logistics across a workforce of approximately 40 staff.

In 2025, I moved to Wisconsin to become Director of Coaching with AYSO United Eau Claire. I helped establish and develop a new community football programme supporting approximately 80 players, six coaches and three programmes. My role focused on coach development, player development, programme leadership, operational planning, stakeholder engagement and long-term programme sustainability.

These were full-time professional football roles undertaken alongside my wider period of academic and professional development.

International Football Leadership

My football career has included leadership, development and operational roles across Canada, China, the United States and the United Kingdom.

In Shanghai, I established UKCoach-China as an independent football development project, creating and delivering programmes within schools and football environments across the city. The project supported more than 300 young players and involved programme design, coach development, workforce management, stakeholder relationships and quality assurance.

In Canada, I worked within provincial and regional football structures, including roles with Soccer Cape Breton and Soccer New Brunswick. These positions involved football development, coach education, competition operations, participation growth, player pathways, workforce development and collaboration with clubs, governing bodies and community organisations.

Working across different countries and football cultures has shaped my approach to leadership and reinforced the importance of developing systems that are sustainable, adaptable and centred around the needs of players and coaches.

Additional Football Experience

Alongside my senior football development and operational roles, I have continued to work directly with players and coaches across grassroots, community and development environments.

My UK experience has included coach mentoring with Clanfield FC and coaching with Chelsea FC Foundation, supporting players and volunteer coaches through structured development, observation, feedback and practical coaching support.

I have also worked within football education and post-16 sport provision, supporting learners through both academic and practical development.

These experiences have helped me maintain a strong connection between strategic football leadership and the realities of day-to-day coaching, player development and workforce support.
